A long-range FPV kit for reaching the ridge and getting back
Long range is the discipline with the least margin for error. A freestyle crash costs you an afternoon and some props; a long-range failure four kilometres out over a forest costs you the aircraft, and quite possibly you never find it. Everything in this kit is chosen with that asymmetry in mind.
The 7-inch airframe is the standard answer because propeller size buys efficiency. Bigger props move more air more slowly for the same thrust, which is what turns a five-minute flight into a twenty-minute one. That extra endurance is not about staying up longer for its own sake — it is the reserve that gets you home when the wind turns out to be stronger on the way back.
Analog is a deliberate choice here rather than a budget one. At the edge of range an analog picture degrades into noise gradually, giving you several seconds of warning to turn around; a digital link is more likely to hold a clean image and then drop out entirely. When the aircraft is a long walk away, a warning you can act on is worth more than a sharper image.
The one thing this kit cannot supply is judgement. Flying beyond visual line of sight is restricted or outright illegal in most jurisdictions, and range capability is not permission. Check what applies where you fly before you plan a route.
